#55 books for children from Graz
It’s hard to believe, but autumn is almost here. The time to curl up in a cosy corner with a book. We have a few tips for the young bookworms among you, children’s books from Graz, about Graz or written by Graz authors. We also reveal the cosiest public places in the city where you can retreat with a book.
Reading tips:
1
Mit Händen und Füßen
Laura Bell, architect, illustrator, adventurer and, more recently, children's book author, has published the wonderful book ``With Hands and Feet`` with Falterverlag. In a playful and interactive way, the whole family can learn more about climate, energy, sustainability and, above all, the famous ecological footprint. It is a lovingly designed hands-on book for everyone.
2
Die Swabidudaps
The Swabidudaps are definitely a name for Graz residents between 30 and 40, a fond memory of childhood. The stories about the fluffy Swabidupas who live in their woolly hat houses and adventures with the dragon Wörga and the goblin Klappatappa still exist today and they have lost none of their magic and still delight children today.
3
Glücksorte
In our books Glücksorte in Graz and Glücksorte in der Steiermark you will find many places that will make children happy. Insider tips as well as more well-known sights, excursion tips and fun things to do in bad or good weather in Graz and Styria can be found in both books.
4
Grazer Wimmelbuch
The classic ‘hidden object book’ is also available for Graz. Colourful pictures of the city's most important sights invite you to take a closer look and go on a voyage of discovery, first in the book and then perhaps in real life. That's just the way we like it.
5
A wie Alaba
Do you already know the footballer ABC book ``A wie Alaba``? A fun idea to learn the ABCs with football stars. The Graz-based authors Thomas, Fabio and Peter have not only written a book to read, but have also created a colouring book. And the best is yet to come: €2 from every book sold will be donated to Michael Gregoritsch's Tor.Chance project.

Reading corners in the city
If you suddenly feel the urge to read, there are a few places in Graz where you can retreat. In addition to cosy spots outdoors, you can also read in the city library, the provincial library, the children's centre on Karmeliterplatz, in Café Mangolds, in various quiet little rooms at the universities or directly in many bookshops.
